A hallmark of fine dining quality, Michelin stars are awarded to restaurants offering outstanding cuisine. Restaurants can receive up to three stars for excellence, making this one of the most sought-after accolades in the culinary world.
From Wikipedia:

- 2 stars : "Excellent cooking, worth a detour" (Table excellente, mérite un détour)
- 3 stars : "Exceptional cuisine, worth a special journey" (Une des meilleures tables, vaut le voyage).[6]
