Peter Gergen
A service for Peter L. Gergen, a Vancouver resident for 28 years, will begin at 10 a.m. Monday at Memorial Gardens Funeral Chapel. Mr. Gergen, 75, died Thursday in Vancouver.

Mr. Gergen was born Nov. 5, 1903 in Park River, N.D. He resided at 3941 E. Fourth Plain Boulevard.

He was a retired employee of Lucky Lager Brewery and a member of St Joseph Catholic Church.

Mr. Gergen played football while attending North Dakota State University and was elected to the Hall of Fame there in 1977. He coached football and basketball at North Dakota State University for many years. He also owned and operated a night club in Delworth, Minn., before moving to Vancouver.

Survivors include his widow, Myrtle R. at home; two sons, Pete Gergen Jr of Santa Cruz, Calif., and Johnny Gergen of Phoenix, Ariz.; a daughter, Connie Woll of Minneapolis, Minn.; a sister, Florence Fabio of St. Paul, Minn.; and seven grandchildren.

The Rev. Anthony Domandich of St. Joseph Catholic Church will officiate at the service.

Burial will be in Evergreen Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
